Located on the northwest shoreline of Oahu, Acroflight international is based out of Dillingham Airfield (PHDH.) The north shore makes a great day trip, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Honolulu. Drop by for a early morning flight and see the morning activity from the air or come in the late afternoon and wrap up another wonderful day in Hawaii, the choice is yours. You can even see the beautiful blue waters from an unusual perspective, upside down!
Summer months provide excellent lift conditions along the 900-foot ridge adjacent to the runway. A brief tow to just 1,000-feet will afford any glider hours of trade wind power. During the winter, a bubble-toped glider provides a spectacular view of thunderous north-shore surf, green mountains and even breaching pods of whales.
We fly out of the western end of the Dillingham airfield in the north-western corner of O'ahu.
From Honolulu, go north on the H-2 towards Haleiwa.
Take the Farrington Highway west away from Haleiwa and Mokuleia and follow the road past the airfield.
Pass by the first airfield entrance (the eastern entrance used by the skydiving companies).
The glider tours operate on the far end of the airfield, the second entrance.
